THOMAS CUP (At the time this report is being written, Hafiz Hashim has not finished his game)
One word -unconvincing.
This was meant to be an easy warm up match, with the absence of top English players. Furthermore, England is currently not regarded as a badminton powerhouse. However, even though none of the team lost a game, all players except Koo and Tan were severely tested and were behind at times.
If Malaysia wants to be able to beat the likes of China and Indonesia, they have to improve their play and buck up! Even though it might be still too early to tell, we are not seeing the convincing form required to win the Thomas Cup.
Lets just hope the players have not really gotten into the mood of the Thomas Cup and are still warming up. If they want to even think of winning tomorrow against Korea, they have to play much better than today.
UBER CUP
The Uber Cup team was a little more convincing, except for a brief period where Wong Mew Choo was behind, never looked threatened by the Kiwis. This is understandable, as the New Zealand Uber Cup team is underfunded.
Lets hope all of the Uber Cup players maintain, or even improve their form.
Good luck to all players!
