Badminton Predictions - Macau Open

Heres my go at predicting:

Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong vs. Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae
Both pairs are off form, with Jae Sung/Yong Dae not justifying their World Championships silver medal in recent tournaments, and Kien Keat/Boon Heong not justifying their All England title and high world ranking. One would say that Kien Keat/Boon Heong without Rexy is disadvantaged, and I concur. However, winning this game will restore lots of confidence not only for this pair, but for the Malaysian fans in general. Tough to predict, but I predict Kien Keat/Boon Heong in three tight sets.

Saina Nehwal vs Jung Jae Youn
Jae Youn has recently produced many sparks in badminton fanatics by winning the US open and beating many more formidable players on the way in other recent tournaments. Saina Nehwal, on the other hand, gained international publicity when she upstaged Xu Huaiwen in the recent World Championships. Nehwal, the top Indian junior, versus Jae Youn, experienced veteren who was tipped to be a challenge to China's domination in Women's Singles through their badminton queens, Xie Xing Feng and Zhang Ning. According to our well placed sources in Macau, it however, appears that Jae Youn is currently suffering from injury, and might withdraw. If Jae Youn manages to recover for this match, I would give this match to Jae Youn in 2 sets.

Bao Chunlai vs Wong Choong Hann
Choong Hann recently admitted that he will retire if he dosen't qualify for the 08 Beijing Olympics. Beating Chunlai, will restore much needed confidence in this former World Champion runner up. Chunlai, going through a slump, however, will not easily give up. Tough to predict.

Zhou Mi vs Xie Xingfang
Battle of the titans. Zhou Mi, ex world number 1 against current world number 2 Xie Xinfang. If Xie plays like she has played for the last few tournaments, Zhou will be the winner. If Xie plays her best though, Xie will prevail. I predict Xie in 3 sets.

Chen Hong vs. Chen Jin
Chen Hong is currently going through a slump, or perhaps he is already a spent force. Young Chen Jin will be gunning to seek revenge for Lee Yong Bo, as Chen Hong reportedly betrayed him and went private. It will be old generation vs young generation. As much as I want Chen Hong to win, I think it is inevitable that Chen Jin will prevail in this match in 2 sets.
